Project
Achieved Oct 2022. Kazuba KL1. It doesn’t smell, it looks fabulous and it is making everyone rethink WASTE. Why oh why is the norm to use premium, drinking-grade water to flush away waste?
The KL1 composting process is based on a constant flow of air, which evaporates liquids and dries out solids and paper (which are further desiccated in the sun-heated chamber at the rear of the KL1). Importantly, there is nothing grim to empty, no water used, no sawdust sprinkled. Eventually there is a small amount of compost produced which could be added back to the veg patch, though we’ve made a collaborative decision, for the time being, that it’s going under the trees!
Our thanks to Ray for taking on the construction of this and to Sue, John and other members for helping him.
